I bought this because my 2004 honda pilot factory battery was on its last leg. In a conventional flooded acid battery after 10 dead events you are going to the parts store because you have ruined your battery. Same goes to a lesser extent with the optima red top - they are strictly a starting battery.

In my case I leave accessories on 24x7 like my escort radar detector. It's to ensure that the gps data is up to date and to keep the microwave components warm so when I leave in the early morning they are on frequency and yield accurate measurements.
